What an amazing store!... So here's our story, I reconnected with my high school crush a year ago via facebook. Quickly we both fell in love and to MY SURPRISE, she proposed to me and said she couldn't not imagine her life without me, so she made me her Fiance. She wanted to have the perfect beach wedding and so we searched for the perfect spot. My Fiance and I found our perfect place to get married in San Pedro this spring and we were both looking for amazing dresses for her. In a short period of time, we looked and looked and found http://onenightaffair.com . As soon as we got a hold of them and told them our wedding was around the corner, they jumped through hoops for us to make sure our wedding was an amazing success. How cool that Sharon and Jeff both got involved like family and got us in there to try on dresses for my bride to be in no time. Michelle, My Fiance, was loving how much attention to detail all the staff and seamstress were able to help her get the dress to a perfect fit. We were looking to purchase before, but spending so much money on our wedding, it just helped so much that we could rent dresses from here. Michelle loved her Vera Wang Mermaid Style dress that was fitted for her. I want to thank both Sharon and Jeff and all the staff who helped us get this together quickly and loved the colors they suggested for our bridesmaids. I have to tell you that my wedding gown shopping here was easy and wonderful and I could never have imagined it would have been so fun. I came here expecting it to be like all the other wedding gown stores that I have spent so many hours in and leaving so disappointed.
The girls here were so helpful and understanding regarding what I was looking for and I actually rented 2 different wedding gowns. One by Reem Acra for my actual wedding and a red one by Maggie Sottero for my reception. I paid $700.00 for the Reem Acra and $195.00 for the Maggie Sottero
I had a wonderful and friendly experience every time that I visited that store. The girls were always extremely attentive and very knowledgeable of fashion and bridal.
When I picked up my dresses, I had a few little last minute things that needed to be taken care of, but they were quick and easy and they did tell me originally to give myself time when I came in and picked up.
My dresses were absolutely gorgeous, they both fit me like they were made for me.
I got so many compliments from everyone, they couldnt believe I rented 2 of the most gorgeous gowns that were right out of the magazines!
My pictures were amazing, I felt like (and looked like) a movie star for the day.
Everyone couldnt stop talking about my dresses. I ended up getting a cocktail dress and a long gown for the cruise that my husband and I went on 3 weeks later for our honeymoon, I could never have afforded to spend all this money on wedding gowns and dresses, it was really unbelievable.
I recommend to everyone to check them out before buying a gown!!!

Why hasn't anyone else come up with this concept??? Hands down the best thing I did for my wedding. Mind you, I didn't think that when my Mother first suggested the idea, but decided to please her and give it a shot! Remember the old saying "Mother knows best", that sure applies here. Every experience from the moment I walked in, to the day I returned my gown was fabulous. My gown was absolutely beautiful by Maggie Sottero and it was altered to fit me like a glove! I looked and felt so amazing and special, what wonderful memories I'll have for the rest of my life! The girls were all fun and energetic every time I came in (which was many because I needed to match my shoes before I started my fittings and alterations). Everyone should know about One Night Affair Gown Rentals, what a way to look amazing without breaking your bank account and going way over your wedding budget! I've rented five dresses from One Night Affair and I've had an excellent experience every time. The gowns are far nicer than what I could afford on my own--plus, I don't have to show up to events wearing the same thing all the time. I get compliment after compliment! There is a huge selection of dresses and the women who work on the floor picking out dresses, etc couldn't be any more helpful. The seamstress is amazing--it's hard to believe the dress I pick up is the same one that I tried on that was many sizes too large since she fits it exactly to my body as though the dresses had been custom designed for me. The elegant dresses give me confidence at the events I attend. If you are renting a beaded dress you couldn't find a better selction of drop dead gorgeous gowns, top of the line for an unbelievably low price. Just drive into Beverly Hills and look in the display windows at Saks, they have beautiful silver sequin and beaded gowns, I checked out the prices, they're in the thousands, yet I found the same gowns to rent for just over a hundred at One Night Affair. I will continue renting from One Night Affair for as long as I have black tie events to attend.

Here's the deal ladies...if you don't have designers beating down your door to offer you their gowns or a stylist on speed dial to race all over town pulling potential dresses for you to wear, I have the one and only answer to your prayers, ONE NIGHT AFFAIR. My husband and I have always attended our share of Black Tie and cocktail events, but when he recently became President of the Screen Actors Guild, we found our mailbox flooded with invitations to some of the most coveted parties. Men have it so easy. They throw on a tux and look dashing, we on the other hand immediately think, "Oh dear lord another dress!" I can't begin to tell you what a joy it was to discover this hidden gem. They have thousands of dresses to choose from and the girls their are so fantastic, consider them your personal stylists! The many times I have been there of late, I've seen gals coming in to look for wedding dresses as well. My fabulous experience at One Night Affair Gown Rentals
I was recently told be my daughter she was going to the winter formal next Saturday.
I then spent 2 days of torture shopping the malls with my daughter for a dress.
After wasting 8 hours in the malls a friend told me about a store that rents designer gowns called One Night Affair. I called them and made an appointment to bring my daughter in the next day.

When we arrived the store was filled with customers looking for wedding and evening gowns.
We were told to have a seat and someone would be right with us.
In about five minutes a lovely young lady came over to my daughter and said "hi sweety describe to me your dream dress".
She then took my daughter to an area where it seemed like there were thousands of dresses.

Within minutes my daughter picked out 4 dresses which she wanted to try on.
With joy the third dress she tried on was the one! She looked gorgeous!
The dress needed an alteration which was completed in about ten minutes while my daughter tried on beautiful jewelry also for rent.
Also while waiting we noticed two brides renting their wedding gowns.
If possible they seemed happier than us. To me It just makes sense to rent a spectacular wedding or evening gown that you will never wear again.

My wife rented a $10K dress here altered and out the door for $1k. The dress had never been worn, and was basically set aside for her for about 5 months until the fitting/wedding. The service was helpful, the dress was gorgeous, and there was no hassle getting it fitted or returning it.My mother in law also rented her evening gown for the wedding from here and had no troubles doing so. This is a great way to go, especially if you don't want to deal with cleaning and boxing up your own wedding dress. Lord knows they're a waste of space.

Finally we have a company like One Night Affair that saw a need to rent high end couture gowns and filled it exceptionally!! Most women (like myself) feel it's more financially feasible to pay a fraction of the cost for a gown we'll only wear once to a wedding or special event and return once we're done. If we take great pictures, our ultimate goal is accomplished. I have so many friends & family members who said they have their wedding gown (worth thousands) preserved and boxed (never to be seen) or tossed in their garage somewhere. Where's the sentimental value in that? And what child ever wears the gown their mother wore? I think One Night Affair's concept of addressing the modern needs of brides and women today are ingenious!!!! There is such a huge void in that area, I just wish they had more locations, which I know it won't be long before they do. The entire staff was extremely professional, helpful and comforting. I was thoroughly satisfied with the service I received and most importantly, my dresses (I rented 2). The entire process went off without a hitch and the stress factor was non existent. Will I use them again?.....ALWAYS for any formal event. Will I tell anyone about them?? Since my wedding on August 15, 2008, I've already referred two newly engaged brides-to-be!!!!! First of all, I have nothing but Fantastic things to say about this place, just don't let the outside of the building or the lack of free parking stop you from going in. Just feed your meter and watch your time, keeping in mind that you will be overwhelmed by the selection inside the shop and it will take some time. I worked with Kristin, who is enthusiastic and really knows her gowns. She will talk with you a bit about what you're looking for and your budget and will steer you to the section of the store where you'll want to start. 10 dress try-ons later, I found the perfect dress! I must admit that I never even began the hunt for a dress to buy, knowing for sure that I'd never wear it again. How many people do you know who wear their dress again for an anniversary or pass it down to their daughter? I know no one...and I took quite an extensive poll before I decided to rent. That decision made, I went in knowing that I had to find my dress there. I hear that the one I chose retails for about $8000. Can't confirm that for sure, but I did check out this Italian designer's website and saw their current designs. Exquisite, is all I can say. And those were the sorts of compliments I was receiving all night during the wedding. I chose a champagne colored gown with an a-line design. The beadwork was so beautiful. The only downside was that you have to follow their strict guidelines to pick up the dress, drop it off, and you won't have the gown with you to match your colors...purse, shoes, other accessories. I found myself going by the store many times with swatches and shoes before the wedding. But, if you live nearby, it's not too inconvenient to make an appointment to stop by. We rented our bridesmaids dresses and even my mother's "mother of the bride" gown there too. Dollar for dollar spent, I'd say that it was worth every penny to rent the wedding gown and dresses. They really put their efforts into their gowns, so I can't say enough good things about my gown rental experience. I will remember my special day in that gown for the rest of my life. I competed in a local pageant for fun with some friends. I had no idea where to get a gown that would make me stand out amoung the crowd, without me having to spend a lot of money. I had searched everywhere, until i found their website online. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and had me come in right away since I only had 3 weeks until the show. Randi had me wear an amazing Sherri Hill dress, and I ended up winning Most Photogenic! I really believe I would not have won if it weren't for this dress...after all it's the winner dress!! Thank you so much for giving me the confidence to pull this off! You saved me!

I had the most wonderful experience, my wedding gown was the most beautiful gown I've ever seen. I never thought I would be wearing a Lazaro wedding gown, it was way out of my budget when I went shopping. I saw One Night Affair on the news and decided to check you out.

I had the most incredible Lazaro gown and a beautiful St. Pucci cathedral veil that I paid nearly 70% less than it's retail value. Last week I came into One night Affair as per my friends recommendation. Being somebody who really doesn't go to special events often, I was excited to the idea that I could rent a dress instead of buying one that would just sit in my closet or garage and never be worn again. When I walked in, I was greeted by a nice, young girl by the name of Carolina who instantly helped me and stayed with me until I found the perfect dress. She was very considerate to my needs (I needed to pick up the dress early) and even helped me pick out accesories to match! I was very pleased with this establishment and I know that I will be back. This was the second time renting from ONA. My first experience was flawless, but was also many years ago. This time, while sitting in a Hawaii airport, I got a call that I was expected to be at an Inauguration event - I had no idea and was not prepared. Furthermore, I was scheduled to land at LAX at 5pm on a Saturday and turn around and leave for DC early Sunday morning....what to do!??I called ONA and the rest is just as flawless as the first experience. When my plane landed 20 minutes late, I called. They stayed open for me! Luckily, I was able to find a perfect gown in under 30 minutes. No hovering, no alterations.??Would I rent from here again...well...I went back a second time...so that answer is YES!??ONA offers a wonderful service that has been available to men for years....thanks!!

I feel that One Night Affair is the best around. I went shopping to so many places and everything looked the same, all the sales people were so pushy, I guess with the way the economy is these days that everyones desperate. But it was my wedding day and I decided that I wasn't going to just settle. I came to your store not imagining I would find anything. I was completely amazed with what I found and the service I received and I felt that I had to write a review, which is something I've never done before. I'm so glad I didn't listen to people telling me I needed to keep my wedding gown so I could give it to my daughter, if I had I would have never gone in....what a mistake it would have been and I would have never found the perfect dress (by the way I've never known anyone that has worn their mothers wedding gown). The store has a very cozy feel to it even though it is very large and could be very intimidating. The girls were extremely helpful, especially Kristen (the tall Blonde) She knows her stuff, she's very much to the point and knows what she's talking about. She never came off all complimentary and told me I looked great in everything, she explained what would flatter my figure in the style that I liked and she was right. I found a fabulous gown by the designer "Allure" it's beautiful, and I could have never afforded to actually go out and buy this gown, it's only for one (very special) day and I'll have beautiful pictures to look back at. I'm thrilled with everyone at One Night Affair and would recommend them to everyone.

We've been going together for the past 8 years and all of us started out here not only getting our gowns and accessories, but many other gowns throughout the year.

Many moons ago, I was a bride. And like any bride, I spent months and months agonizing over what I'd walk down the aisle in and finally investing in the most important part of the big day... my wedding dress. I settled on a one-of-a-kind pale rose tinted ivory vintage silk dress with a long cathedral train and took it to a highly recommended seamstress who specialized in wedding dresses for a few alterations. ??Two weeks before my wedding, I went in for the final fitting and the unthinkable happened. They destroyed my dress. Yes. Destroyed my wedding dress. Someone had been careless with a steam setting irreparably scorching huge swathes of the antique silk beyond repair. The wedding dress it took me months to find (not to mention, fit) was up in smoke less than two weeks before my day and I was faced with the prospect of being a naked bride. ??In nothing short of borderline hysterical bridal panic mode I scoured the city's bridal boutiques looking for something that would make me even remotely happy. For those who've never had the joy of planning a wedding, it's impossible to get a designer wedding dress less than a month advance and even that is cutting it short. My last hope was looking like David's Bridal but (no offense budget brides) I just couldn't stomach the thought of walking down the aisle in cookie cutter polyester. ??Finally, someone at Marie Strauss in Beverly Hills (where my bridesmaids dresses had come from) suggested I try One Night Affair. ??At first, the thought of a rental wedding dress made me shudder and cringe almost as much as wearing polyester - or nothing at all - but let's face it, I was desperate and had nothing to lose. When I called and relayed my plight they stayed open late that night to get me in to find a dress. In a couple of hours, they'd calmed me down and I'd tried on enough gorgeous designer dresses (miraculously in my size!) to know it was gonna be ok. Sidebar: What's carried at a bridal boutique is generally a dress or two that's very small for the sake of trying on and your dress is then special ordered and fitted.??Before I walked back outside I'd found a beautiful Amsale ivory silk embroidered corset dress (retail $5k-$6k) that had just been shipped in and never worn that fit like a glove and needed just a simple hem and bustle. ??These guys may not have saved my marriage, but they sure did save the hell of a party that was my wedding!

Experts say the average U.S. wedding now costs $25,000.
That puts a major strain on brides and grooms who want their dream wedding on a very tight budget. But with a little creativity and a dab of elbow grease, you can have the fairytale at a fraction of the cost.
Planning that spectacular dream wedding on a tight budget?
Wedding designer and author of "Countdown to Your Perfect Wedding" Joyce Scardina Becker has some advice.
She says you can start cutting costs by trimming your guest list and getting creative.
"Consider having a luncheon, consider having a brunch those will all be less expensive than the seated, plated meal," Joyce advices.
You can also save a minimum of 25 percent by booking your venue in an off-peak season. Here in Southern California that's November and anytime between January and late March.
Then, say goodbye to sentiment and head to One Night Affair in west Los Angeles where you can rent your wedding gown.
"They can be the belle of the ball without paying a fortune," Joyce says.
Whether it's a beach wedding or an elaborate evening affair, One Night Affair has over 2,000 nearly new gowns in sizes 2 through 40.
"You could rent a wedding gown for 99 dollars," a One Night Affair employee says. "So you really can save. No matter what your budget is we can fit it."
You can rent an entire great look from head to toe for pennies on the dollar!
On the other hand if you want to brag about a designer label, a $6,000 St. Pucci rents for less than $700.

"Marriages to go" published the article (that follows) because "Renting a Gown" is not only such a great way to go being eco-friendly, but with the way that the economy is these days, we all need to find ways to save money on weddings, and One Night Affair is the answer.
How many times are you going to wear your wedding gown (once!!!) Take the money that you can save and put it towards other necessities.
I'm still a firm believer in renting gowns for all the right reasons!!!

The comprehensive article from the New York Times not only documents that previously-owned dresses are big news these days, but lists many "pre-loved" dress options for brides to consider. Check it out! Pre-owned is a great idea, not only to conserve money but environmental resources too. And do remember, until very recently it was considered perfectly honorable to wear another brides dress--as long as the other bride was your mom. Consider that choosing to wear the dress of a contemporary bride will afford you more style options and a modern silhouette (no offense meant to the fashion sense of moms of course, and I hope none taken.) Also, we girls can now enjoy the all benefits of renting our wedding togs just like the menfolk, and not have to worry about cleaning or storing the dress afterwards. The NYT article brings up wedding dress rentals as being the hottest thing going these days, especially with the way the economy is. I can vouch for a local one here in L.A. called One Night Affair; a few of my clients have worn their dresses and looked great. At One Night Affair you can rent couture dresses and accessories, some of which have been featured in film or TV projects, for a fraction of what they'd cost to buy.
